Thomas Smye - Born 6 August 1916 in Hamilton, ON; wife was Dorothy Jean
Carswell who was connected with C.D. Howe -- Fred was A.V. Roe's first
employee, president of Avro Aircraft Ltd. and appointed as executive
vice-president, responsible for aeronautical enterprises in January
1958 - Fred continues as president of Avro Aircraft Ltd. and is chairman
of the board of Orenda, chairman of the board and president of Canadian
Applied Research Ltd., and chairman of the board and president of Canadian
Steel Improvement Ltd. Died of cancer in Portugal in December 1985.
